Better Days ‎– YX-7265-ND

After nearly a decade of prolific jazz guitar work, Kazumi Watanabe began the 1980s with a shift in his style.  Embracing the trends of fusion between jazz and rock, funk and the emerging disco boogie, To Chi Ka is incredibly diverse in its composition.  Everyone is here to play and this album begins what will continue to be the Kazumi Band.  He draws a lot on his supporting crew here, including amazing bass work from both Marcus Miller and Tony Levin.  The tracks speak for themselves - this is a break-out album for KW's career as the era of 1980s city pop was starting to spread across Japan.

This particular copy plays very well except for one small blip on B3 (Sayonara) lasting for just a few rotations.  The OBI is intact but slightly faded on the back.  The jacket has light bruising but the insert is crisp and clean.
